All pupils attending Our Lady's Catholic Academy are strongly encouraged to maintain consistently good attendance.
Our Lady's Catholic Academy works closely with the MAC Education Welfare Manager in partnership with parents/carers in promoting and encouraging good attendance and punctuality for all pupils.
Attendance and punctuality is regularly reviewed. School will communicate with parents where any concerns around attendance and/or punctuality arise to offer relevant support. Persistent absences, lateness, or sudden changes to attendance will trigger a response from the school attendance team, or Education Welfare Manager. Home visits may be made where pupils are absent from school without explanation, or if school remain concerned regarding pupil welfare or attendance.
Penalty Notices
With the introduction of the new National Framework for Penalty Notices, the following changes are now in effect from August 2024:
Our current school percentage and target for attendance is 97%.
